1. Acceptance of Terms
Welcome to PromptBuff. By accessing or using our website, browser extension, user dashboard, or API (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not access or use our Service.
2. Account Registration and Security
To access advanced features of our prompt enhancement tools, including prompt history synchronization and higher credit limits, you must authenticate using Google OAuth or Supabase Auth.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your session tokens, API keys, and credentials.
- You are fully responsible for all activities, prompt requests, and subscription purchases made under your account.
- You must immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account or security breach.
- Age Restrictions: You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum legal age in your country) to create an account and use the Service.
3. Data Processing and Privacy
Because PromptBuff is an AI-powered prompt enhancement tool, we process text inputs and generate optimized prompt outputs.
3.1 What Data We Collect & Process
- Account Information: Your email address and profile details retrieved during authentication.
- User Prompts: The original text prompts you submit to the web dashboard or browser extension for enhancement.
- Generated Prompts: The optimized prompts returned by our downstream AI models.
- Usage Metrics: The count of prompt enhancements, model selections, and timestamps for billing and quota enforcement.
3.2 What Data We DO NOT Store or Collect
- Payment Details: We never collect, process, or store credit card numbers, billing addresses, or banking information. All transactions are handled securely by our payment processor (Dodo Payments).
- Private Browser Activity: Our browser extension only reads webpage input fields when you actively invoke the PromptBuff enhancement shortcut. We do not track your browsing history or collect background activity.
Data Privacy Guarantee: Your prompt history is only used to display a convenient search and reuse dashboard for your account. We do not sell or rent your prompts to any third parties.
4. Downstream AI Processors & Third Parties
To perform prompt optimization, your inputs are transmitted to downstream Large Language Model (LLM) providers (specifically OpenAI and OpenRouter APIs).
- Model Processing: By submitting prompts, you grant us the right to transmit your inputs to these third-party processors.
- No Model Training: PromptBuff does not use your prompts or generated outputs to train our own models. Furthermore, our API integrations with OpenAI and OpenRouter are configured under standard API policies where data transmitted via API is not used to train public models.
5. Subscriptions, Payments & Refund Policy
PromptBuff offers subscription plans billed on a recurring monthly or annual basis via Dodo Payments.
- Billing Cycle and Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled by the user.
- Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings dashboard. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to your plan benefits until the end of your current billing period.
- Strict No Refunds: All payments made to PromptBuff are final and non-refundable. Because services (including advanced AI model processing tokens and prompt optimizations) are provisioned immediately upon payment, we cannot reverse or refund transaction amounts.
- Failed Payments: If a recurring payment fails, PromptBuff reserves the right to suspend access to premium features and higher credit limits immediately until payment is resolved.
Important: Completing a purchase indicates your explicit agreement to this strict, absolute no-refund policy.
6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
PromptBuff leverages advanced generative artificial intelligence models to optimize prompts.
- Accuracy & Suitability: AI-generated outputs can be unpredictable, inaccurate, or biased. We do not guarantee that the enhanced prompts will produce the exact desired results in your target LLMs.
- User Review Required: You are solely responsible for reviewing, validating, and testing any enhanced prompts before using them in production, coding, or commercial applications.
- Liability: PromptBuff is not responsible for any errors, bugs, copyright issues, or losses caused by the use or integration of AI-generated prompts.
7. Intellectual Property & Use License
PromptBuff grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service in accordance with these Terms.
- Your Content: You retain full ownership, copyright, and responsibility for the original prompts you input and the enhanced prompts generated by the Service. PromptBuff does not claim any ownership rights over your prompt text.
- Our Service: PromptBuff retains all ownership, copyright, and intellectual property rights in the Service itself, including the logo, extension, styling, codebase, and core features.
- Restrictions: You agree not to reverse engineer the Chrome extension, bypass usage limits/quotas, scrape the service, or use PromptBuff to generate illegal, malicious, or copyright-infringing content.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
The PromptBuff Service is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. PromptBuff makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties, including without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall PromptBuff, its developers, or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data, loss of profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the PromptBuff Service, even if PromptBuff has been notified of the possibility of such damage. Our total liability under these terms shall not exceed the total amount paid by you to PromptBuff in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PromptBuff, its developers, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or any prompts you submit that infringe on third-party rights.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the country and jurisdiction of PromptBuff's operations, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the competent courts of such jurisdiction.
